Marriage and Babies

This summer, more than any other, has been the summer of love.  Not for me, unfortunately, but for everyone else.  Seriously, countless weddings and babies have filled my schedule (and emptied my wallet, ha).  It's been great to be able to be a part of so much excitement.

I mentioned earlier, how I caught the Utah valley domesticity epidemic and taught myself to crochet.  WELL...this new skill has been handy in aiding me with the love epidemic that has taken hold of so many friends and family.  I made some baby booties a few days ago for my Aunt Laurie who will soon be having a baby.

I'm also working on a baby blanket for my other Aunt Julie.  Her baby is due in October.  It will take a while to finish that project, but I think it will be worth it.  So far it's adorable.

By the way, although I love my married friends, and I'm so excited for them, I really appreciate all of my single friends more than ever now.  Without them I would be sad and bored all the time.  So don't feel like you all need to go off and fall and love too quick.  Being single is fun too!

Love,
Liz :)

Domesticity

My roommate Julia is gone to California for the rest of the summer (for her wedding) and has completely moved out. My other roommate is getting ready to go on a mission for the church and is never here slash she is in the process of moving out. So, basically, I live alone now. And since I'm at the ripe old age of 21 (which often feels like being 41 in BYU years), I'm getting more in touch with my lonely old lady side.
Ha, ok, so i'm not really lonely or sitting at home with cats and yarn listening to Jane Austin books all day. But it is true that I have recently decided that I want to be crafty. I'm on a learning kick or something...I'm obsessed with learning new things and finding new hobbies. This summer I have picked up raquetball, bought a mountain bike, and now I'm learning to crochet and knit. I also want to make a terrarium, sew, and learn to do my family history. It's becoming clear to me that I've spent too much time in Utah county, ha.
I joke about it....but I really am serious about being interested in all of these things. So far it has been really fun to learn this stuff. The only problem is time. I'm a full time student and i work 20 hours a week. Plus church responsibilities and dating. Crocheting is fun....too fun. I'm most likely spending way to much time on it, ha.

Lately I've been wanting to be all crafty and domestic-like. So, I taught myself to crochet over the weekend. This was my first successful flower that i did. I think it is cute...although I didn't buy the color with flowers in mind, obviously. Now I'm making a baby blanket.
